Can't Talk Now

The Illustrious is here. Computer's still broken. Lots of stuff to do tomorrow. Perhaps even updating. Made peach cobbler; came out pretty good.

Also, am not dead.

Good to know you're still with us. How goes the battle?
Any progress on the employment front? You know I have to ask. I think it outlined as a parental responsibility in book I've read "Getting Even with your Children, the later years"
Bye for now.
Your loving dad.

A. You're a really good writer. Good enough to consider writing for a living. Do you have any friends in publishing? Make sure all your family and friends know this is what you're looking for; dya think travel writers are good? No, mostly very networky. Because I could easy see you as writing an 'ex-pat in Ireland' kind of column for a magazine or two. Perhaps jig up an article or two, eh, and see where it takes you. This gal seems to have done it quite well:

B. There are SOOO many online companies in Dublin; it's like the geek center of Europe. You can write and you have a blog which shows you are technicologically semi-intelligent. You might think about that sector working in Content or Marketing. I would suggest hooking up with an IT consulting and staffing company; many times 3-month contract positions turn into onboard salaried positions.

C. And lastly, and this may be REALLY too cheesy for you, but I see ex-pats (or American-Irish or whatever you want to call 'em) that are living in Dublin, online at Friendster and Orkut and Tribe all the bleepin' time. Would it hurt to meet new people for a night and go out for beers? Again, networking, networking, networking. They will be encaspulated in your charm and wit and will have to whip out work contract papers then and there, what what?

and I always suggest this:

It is never too late, and is always interesting and challenging. You're writing skills would take you a long way.

Cheers!
